Altipiani in Corte
Corsica's Green Capital

Altipiani, the only agency
for nature sports
in the heart of Corsica at Corte

Altipiani is much more than just a nature sports agency. Based in Corte, the green capital of Corsica, it has become an essential reference point for enthusiasts of canyoning, climbing, hiking and electric bike holidays. Created by Agnès, an experienced guide in climbing, canyoning and hiking, Altipiani is first and foremost a family business that focuses on safety, adventure and respect for the environment.

A full range of outdoor activities in Corte

Located in the heart of the Corsican mountains, Altipiani offers a wide range of outdoor activities, suitable for all levels and ages. Whether you’re looking for an unforgettable canyoning experience, a hiking escapade or an electric bike adventure, we have a tailor-made offer to meet your expectations. We also organise multi-activity breaks and themed breaks to discover all the wonders of Corsica while enjoying an adventure in the heart of nature.

Pioneer of canyoning
in central Corsica

Altipiani is a major player in canyoning in central Corsica. We were the first to open several canyons in central Corsica, making the region even more accessible to adventure-seekers. Our team explores and equips new routes, installing the necessary infrastructure to guarantee safe descents. Among our most notable achievements, we have opened and equipped famous canyons such as the Verghellu and the Capelli. We’ve also equipped the Tavignano and Saut du Curé canyons, which offer unique experiences for thrill-seekers.
The Vecchio canyon, once reserved for kayakers, has also been fitted out by our team to make it a wild and unique route, difficult to access but offering breathtaking scenery. And let’s not forget the Corse Canyon association and Frank Jourdan, whose hard work is helping to maintain and develop most of the canyons in Corsica.

A strong commitment to safety

Altipiani stands out for its commitment to safety. We pioneered the free loan of canyoning shoes in Corsica, because we consider your safety to be a priority. Just like a helmet on a bike, appropriate footwear is essential for a successful canyoning trip. We don’t charge you for hiring these shoes, because we want you to enjoy your experience in complete safety.
We also ensure that all your equipment is disinfected daily using environmentally-friendly products. Altipiani is committed to providing you with quality equipment manufactured by socially and environmentally responsible companies.

An agency committed to the environment

Respect for the environment is at the heart of our corporate values. We actively support a number of nature protection associations through memberships and annual donations. Among our partners, we work with the Corsican association U Levante, accredited for environmental protection, as well as the national association Mountain Wilderness. We also support NGOs such as Public Eye and the Collectif Éthique sur l’Étiquette, which work for social and environmental causes.
Altipiani is a member of the Eco-tourisme en Corse Orientale network and the Green Friday collective, two initiatives that encourage sustainable tourism that respects natural resources. These commitments reflect our desire to preserve the beauty of Corsica for future generations, while enabling visitors to discover its natural treasures in a responsible way.

The Altipiani mountain office has gradually evolved into a shop specialising in mountain sports, climbing, hiking, mountaineering, canyoning and electric bikes. Today, Altipiani offers both equipment and clothing for your nature sports activities, and an office for booking your sports activities during your holidays in Corsica. Altipiani is a small, family-run business that lives and breathes thanks to its team: the people who work in the shop and the guides who can take you hiking, climbing, via corda and canyoning. They’ve been working with us for many years. In short, it’s a team of canyoning, climbing and hiking guides with a great deal of experience and wisdom who will guide you…
Discover Corsica differently, in complete safety and with respect for nature, with Altipiani.

Agnès, canyoning, climbing and hiking guide

Passionate about nature and in love with Corsica, Agnès, a mountain professional, set up the Altipiani agency in 2000. A mountain leader and climbing and canyoning instructor, she will be your main contact when it comes to preparing and organising your holidays. In season, you’ll also find her out in the field, on foot, on a cliff or in a canyon. Her university education in Mediterranean ecology will enable her to answer almost all your questions about Corsica’s natural environment, as well as its history and culture. Agnès loves her job as a guide and always takes great pleasure in helping you discover the island’s varied landscapes.

Yannick, canyoning and climbing guide

Yannick, 41, was born in Marseille, so it was in the Calanques that I started climbing and caught the vertical element bug. Not being a schoolboy, I took a state diploma in climbing and canyoning. That’s where I met Agnès, who suggested I come and spend one of my first seasons in Corsica, 19 years ago… I really liked the idyllic working environment. I then moved to the Gorges du Verdon, attracted by the great cliffs for climbing. For around fifteen years, I lived to the rhythm of the canyoning and climbing seasons, before turning to rope access work where I rediscovered verticality. I wanted to take a break from this life of building sites, so I left my job. As they say, there’s no such thing as chance: two days later and 20 years later, Agnès contacted me again because she was looking for someone… And so we were off on a new adventure!

Cédric, canyoning and climbing guide

I taught climbing at the biggest club in France, Chambery Escalade, for 15 years.
Passionate about canyoning, I have practised this discipline in Spain, Italy and France, particularly on the islands, in Réunion and for the last 16 years in Corsica.

Gégé, canyoning and trekking guide

My name is Gérard, I’m 66 years old and I’m retired, but I still work as a freelance in winter and summer.
During my previous working life, I enjoyed many outdoor activities, particularly canyoning in Isère and Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur.
I also had the opportunity to work in Corsica for several years, where this summer activity really came into its own.
The island’s special features, its exceptional, protected natural environment and its magnificently clear, cool waters, gave me the bug.
That’s why, every summer, I want to share with others, in exchange for a little physical effort, the little hidden gems that Corsica has to offer.
