The U Branu (Spring) canyon is also known as the Cipetto canyon. It’s an ideal canyon at the start of the season and an ideal place to discover this activity.
It is about thirty minutes from Corte, Bastia, Moriani or Île-Rousse. A short hike through the heart of the Corsican scrubland takes you there. The landscape tells a little of Corsican history as you pass through the ‘lenza’ and ‘aghja’ (cultivation terrace and wheat threshing floor).
In spring, you can abseil, jump, slide and go over a few handrails.
The Cipetto is a tributary of the Golo in the commune of Volpajola. The name could come from ‘fox’, but the locals prefer the second etymology, ‘valle di l’olio’, as the commune is famous for its olive oil.
The descent of the canyon begins with a short rope section, followed by a first jump.
This is followed by slides with or without ropes, slides and jumps of varying heights, as well as passages through short galleries, ending with an optional abseil. Of course, jumps and slides are not compulsory in canyoning. The rope passages in the Cipettu canyon are very easy, so accessible to everyone. Abseiling is optional.
The U Branu canyon does not require any technical skills in advance. As with all our canyons, jumps and slides are optional.

Coming from Corte, Calvi or Ponte Leccia, stay on the T20 towards Bastia for around 14km.
From the Ponte Novu exit, drive 4km to the right of the Accendi Pipa hotel for another 2.1km and you can park on your right.
Coming from Bastia, at Casamozza take direction Corte, drive 10km, pass under the railway bridge. The car park is 300m further on your left.

Knowing how to swim is compulsory, you must declare any health problem, medical history, one-off or long-term treatment, accident, likely to affect your physical or psychological health, as well as any particular apprehension (vertigo, history, fears…).

Do not use sun cream in the canyons, the fish will thank you and you will be wearing a neoprene wetsuit, which is totally unnecessary.
